NEW OPTIMISTIC WORKS – CASE STUDY: DESIGN & MADE IN SINGAPORE
About New Optimistic Works Case Study: Design & Made in Singapore
Studio Juju presents NEW OPTIMISTIC WORKS, a new label focusing on original contemporary design with distinct personality, for a worthwhile and aesthetic way of living.
This exhibition showcases the label’s inaugural collection “CASE STUDY: DESIGN & MADE IN SINGAPORE”—a collection of objects and furniture that explores possibilities and experiments with manufacturing capabilities in Singapore. Working with familiar materials, and transforming them with new ideas, this project adopts a hands-on research process, made possible only with the many insightful conversations and working sessions with the makers and designers in a tight relationship.
This project works with Singapore designers and artists Tiffany Loy, Hans Tan, Nathan Yong, Forest & Whale, Kim Choy and Studio Juju. And made in Singapore by makers and manufacturers: Mud Rock Ceramics, Shibui Furniture Collective, Baremetalco, Wah Chye Engineering Work, Chop Wah Hin Sheet Metal Works, A Thing of Sense and Synergraphic Design.
New Optimistic Works is a design label creatively directed by Studio Juju.
