About Polyphonic Futures
Polyphonic Futures is a growing ideas laboratory and research platform that examines cutting-edge biomaterials science through collectively generated, speculative futures.
Veronica Ranner invites participants (experts in their own field (m/w/d) – artists, designers, scientists, writers, technologists, academics, and activists, to join her for a half-day-long workshop to critically explore body interfacing and transient materials — especially ‘reverse engineered silk’ — a biomaterial currently confined to laboratories. In this transdisciplinary workshop, the participants develop their own vision on the spectrum of future body interfacing — from ‘wearables’ to ‘implantables’ — and share feedback on previous submissions.
The workshop is free of charge, but places are limited. For securing a place, please send a short bio and a few words about your motivation to participate (max. 200 words) to the following address: email@example.com
Veronica Ranner is a trans-disciplinary artist and designer, working on the intersections between science, technology and ecology. In her speculative design practice, she explores the posthuman qualities and ethics of “bio-digitality” through experimental methods for collectively imagining futures. She exhibits, presents, teaches worldwide, and currently works as an Assistant Professor for Product Design at Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media in Singapore.
